Beowulf -Beowulf is the main character who is a great warrior in the land of the Geats. He travels to help the Danes who are under attack to fight off some evil monsters. Throughout the epic, Beowulf fights Grendel, Grendel's mother, and a dragon. Through these fights, Beowulf proves himself to be a courageous and robust hero and warrior.
King Hrothgar -Hrothgar is the king of the Danes in which his kingdom is under attack from Grendel. Grendel constantly terrorizes his great mead hall, Herot.
Grendel -A monster from Cain who constantly attacks and kills warriors in the mead-hall. Beowulf offers to fight him off and kills him by ripping his arm off.
Grendels Mother -Motivated by anger and seeking vengeance for her son Grendel's death, she battles with Beowulf. She is defeated by Beowulf after a close fight in the swamp.
The Dragon - When a slave trys to steal some of the dragon's heavily guarded treasure, it awakens and wreaks havoc on Geatland and influences Beowulf to go fight it. In a desperate battle, Beowulf is bitten by the dragon and later dies but Wiglaf is able to defeat it later on.
Wiglaf - Shows great loyalty to Beowulf by helping him defeat the dragon and is the proud successor to him making Wiglaf the king of the Geats.
Hygelac - This is Beoulf's uncle and the king of the Geat's.
